In the Dominican Republic I stayed in the
Iberostar Costa Dorada in Playa Dorada. This was a fantastic
all inclusive hotel; it had 4 main restaurants - 3 of which
were specialities and an a la carte restaurant which varied
night to night, but there was always something I liked.
There were also snack bars during the day. The service was
very good; all of the staff were extremely friendly.
During the day there were plenty of
activities to do or there was a huge pool to have a swim in,
or lounge around in the glorious sunshine. It is located
right on a white sandy beach which is sectioned off (for
hotel customers only) and has various water sports.
The resort of Playa Dorada is nearby, with a
shopping mall, additional restaurants, bars, gift shops, a
movie theatre, two casinos and a golf course if you wish to
leave the hotel and have a look around. I would recommend
going on some trips to see more of what the Dominican has to
offer. I went on a catamaran which included drinks and lunch
and they stopped half way so you could go snorkelling.
The entertainment was good there were
different shows every night and you could go to the night
club at the hotel after if you wished.
I was there for two weeks and could have
stayed a lot longer - it was a fantastic place! |
