We stayed in the Sarpidon apartments in Malia which were 5 minutes from the strip in the old town. They are family run apartments and were very friendly and the apartments themselves are really nice. There was a great atmosphere around the pool during the day and night (the bar is open 24 hours.) Every Sunday they have a BBQ which includes a quiz and karaoke and we got to dress up one of the lads which was so much fun and he won the competition!

The beach was quite small but was nice and always packed! You could do various water sports such as jet skiing and there is a few bars down there.

We weren’t very adventurous with food it was mainly English places we went to in particular the Red Lion – I would recommend trying there! There were loads of different restaurants and fast food places so you would always find something you liked.

There are so many bars and clubs in Malia you won’t know where to start. We would always start off at a small bar around the corner from our apartments where drinks were 3 for 1 although I can’t remember the name of it. The bars we mainly went to on the main strip were Malibu sports bar, Yiasou, Factory and Apollo – an R&B night club. We also went to Cheeky ½ which played cheesy music but it was a laugh!

We had a fantastic time in Malia I would definitely go back!

We really enjoyed Malia, there is certainly plenty to do. Malia has a hectic nightlife and has a really good friendly atmosphere. We went in October and is was much quieter than is summer months. The weather was fantastic, it was still in the late 80's! The pool at the Vergina Apartments is amazing - its about the best pool I've ever seen! and although our room was a little grotty (but it was the end of the season to be fair) - the pool area made up for it. There are some great bars, our favourites were the Loft, Cheeky's Bar and the Malibu Club (which has a parrot wandering about on the bar!). The beach is superb, one of the best I've seen. The main strip in Malia is called Beach Road and is probably best suited to younger people during the peak season, although there are quieter bars too which couples and families may prefer. For food, a must is the Red Lion - they do those huge yorkshire puddings, filled with mash, veg and gravy and the portions were massive! - I've got a good appetite (probably a bit too good) and I couldn't finish it, although it wasn't for the want of trying!
